2009 Community Day Walk

LTCF Held First Annual Community Day Walk on October 4th, 2009
The Lawrence Township Community Foundation (LTCF) hosted its first annual Community Day Walk on Sunday, October 4, 2009. Proceeds from the walk registrations will support grants that are awarded to nonprofit organizations that provide services and programs to the Lawrence Township Community. Children who participated in the walk donated canned goods to the Lawrence Neighborhood Center Food Pantry.
Walkers enjoyed a 4 mile course on the scenic Lawrence Hopewell Trail that began in Village Park NW to Blackwell Road and back. The Lawrence High School cheerleaders and the Red Scare Band provided music prior to and at the start of the walk.
Registered walkers received a complimentary reusable tote bag. A contest was held at Lawrence High School for the design of the reusable bag and the winner, Erica Scardelletti received a $100 Best Buy gift card that was generously donated by Dan and Janice Haggerty.
A special thanks to our generous sponsors: Bristol-Myers Squibb, ETS, Lawrenceville School, Rider University, Mercadien, Stark & Stark, Radiology Affiliates, as well as our in-kind donors, Terhune Orchards and Empower Fitness and the Boy Scouts and The Community for their volunteer support. The planning and the logistics of the walk would not have been possible without the partnership of the Lawrence Township Police, EMS and Recreation Department, Mercer County Park and the Lawrence Hopewell Trail leadership.
If you are interested in participating in the 2010 Community Day Walk as a committee member, walker or volunteer, please contact Walk Committee Chair, Michelle Everman at (609) 689-2399.
